EEC Board approved recommendation on economic cooperation in health care in EAEU

The recommendation was prepared by the Eurasian Economic Commission jointly with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union under the Strategy 2025 and envisages developing economic cooperation of the Member States to ensure the availability of modern health care achievements.

The document includes three key areas of cooperation: development of information and communication technologies (ICT) and telemedicine, provision of high-tech medical care, as well as cooperation in standardizing medical technologies. The Member States will be mutually interested in such cooperation.

"The implementation of the proposed initiatives will help ensure the availability of modern medical technologies and high-tech medical care for the citizens of the Union states," noted Bakhyt Sultanov, EEC Minister in charge of Economy and Financial Policy.


The approved document recommends exploring best practices in the use of telemedicine services, working out approaches to organizing remote interaction in the provision of cross-border medical care to citizens, including the use of ICTs, developing proposals in this area, etc.
