On October 7, Maksat Mamytkanov, Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, held a meeting with representatives of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Business Russia and Opora Russia at the headquarters of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
The meeting attendees discussed synchronizing the law enforcement practice in the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union and organizing work on amendments to the EAEU Customs Code, prospects for using navigation seals in the Union, mechanisms for correlating efficient customs control and compliance with business interests as well as digitalization in the customs sphere.
It was noted that the business community was interested in unrestricted competition which was ensured primarily by uniform rules for customs clearance from Brest to Vladivostok.
The meeting attendees also paid attention to the importance of joint work in the format of expert groups at the venue of the Commission’s Customs Unit and confirmed their readiness to continue the constructive dialogue that had developed during the work on the EAEU Customs Code.
"Our primary objective is to create regulatory environment promoting the development of integration processes and ensuring uniform practice of the customs services within all five countries", Maksat Mamytkanov stressed.
