Maksim Ermolovich and Nikolay Snopkov discussed opportunities to expand mutual participation of EAEU countries in state procurement

The issues of ensuring equal access to state procurement in the Eurasian Economic Union countries and increasing the share of mutual participation were in the focus of attention at the meeting between Maksim Ermolovich, Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Nikolay Snopkov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.

As Maksim Ermolovich emphasized, the volume of the EAEU state procurement market has exceeded 190 billion US dollars and continues to grow, but so far mutual participation in state procurement is small.

"The countries can only develop their trade and increase competition through mutual rejection of protectionism," the EEC Minister said.

In turn, Nikolay Snopkov has noted that the supply of Belarusian goods to the EAEU countries is increasing, while Belarusian companies are actively involved in state procurement.

“The main guideline is for the single market of the five to become more open. For this purpose, it is necessary to eliminate all kinds of national exceptions, and ensure equal access and competition on an equal footing", Nikolay Snopkov said.
