First statistical study on EAEU pension provision was published

The Statistics Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission has presented its first study on pension provision in the Eurasian Economic Union. The compendium includes data on pension provision and other socio-economic indicators characterizing the population over the working age for the period from 2016 to 2021.

For example, the EAEU population amounted to 184 mln people at the beginning of 2021, of them about 49 mln people receive a pension. The pension ranges from 79 US dollars (6,102 soms) in Kyrgyzstan to 208 US dollars (14,986 rubles) in Russia.

The share of working retired employees varies from 10% in Kyrgyzstan to 25% in Belarus.

Most of the capital's pensioners are in Armenia (37%) and the least of them are in Kazakhstan (5%).

On average, 22 pensioners (7 men and 15 women) are accounted for by 100 people of the working-age population in the EAEU.

The retirement age differs in the EAEU countries: for men it varies from 60.5 years in Russia to 63 years in Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan and for women it varies from 55.5 years in Russia to 63 in Armenia.

More detailed information is available on the Statistics Department's webpage in the compendium entitled "Pension Provision. The EAEU Statistics".
