The Eurasian Economic Commission's Board has adopted the Guidelines for handling laboratory (experimental) animals when conducting preclinical (non-clinical) studies.
The Guidelines regulate general approaches to the management and participation of animals in studying the safety of human medicines, if this study cannot be fully carried out using laboratory or computer modeling.
The adopted Guidelines contain
recommendations to minimize any unpleasant (undesirable) effects on laboratory
animals. Applying the Guidelines will make it possible to select the optimal
variants of the experiment, the least traumatic for the animals, but at the
same time efficient manipulations and to perform them in a competent manner,
thus achieving the objective of the experiment in the most humane way.
