The first round of negotiations on concluding a free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and the United Arab Emirates was held in Dubai (UAE) from March 6 to March 8.

During the round, the parties discussed the regulatory part of the future agreement and identified the key parameters for liberalizing access to each other's markets.

“In line with the goals to accelerate the process previously set by the leadership of our countries, the negotiating teams will strive to complete substantive discussions of the draft agreement by the end of the year,” Mikhail Cherekaev, Deputy Director of the Trade Policy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission, informed.
