EEC Council decided to grant tariff exemptions for beef to manufacture meat products

The Eurasian Economic Commission's Council has decided to grant tariff exemptions for beef imported for the manufacture of meat products in 2023. The exemptions apply to deliveries of up to 10 ths tons to the Republic of Armenia, up to 7.5 ths tons to the Republic of Belarus, up to 5 ths tons to the Republic of Kazakhstan, up to 2.5 ths tons to the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as up to 100 ths tons - to the Russian Federation.
The bulk of meat imports from third countries accounts for frozen products intended for the manufacture of canned meat and sausage products. The measure approved now is aimed primarily at providing meat producers with affordable raw materials and stabilizing consumer prices, the EEC Trade Unit noted.
The decision shall come into effect after 10 calendar days have elapsed from the date of its official publication and shall apply to legal relations arisen since January 1, 2023.
