On March 2, the meeting of the Advisory Committee on Natural Monopolies chaired by Arzybek Kozhoshev, Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission, approved a draft document that ensures implementing unified principles and rules for regulating activities of the Eurasian Economic Union’s natural monopoly entities.
The document provided for by the roadmap in the sphere of natural monopolies was prepared by the Commission jointly with experts from the EAEU countries' regulatory authorities and is aimed at ensuring the uniform application of the principles and rules envisaged by Annex No. 20 to the Treaty on the Union.
The meeting approved draft information on the work performed in the sphere of natural monopolies for 2022. The document contains information on the adopted and current regulatory legal acts of the Member States, the activities of the EAEU countries’ regulatory authorities, as well as the activities carried out by the Union States to harmonize legislation in the spheres of natural monopolies. The document will be presented to the Heads of the EAEU States in May 2023.
