Zayfun Ernazarova was born in the city of Kyzylorda (Republic of Kazakhstan). In 1987 she graduated from the Almaty Institute of National Economy, in 1989 from the Moscow Cooperative Institute of Centrosoyuz. Her diploma specialty is Economist. She is a Ph.D. in Economics and Associate Professor of Almaty Humanitarian Economic University.
She began her career in 1987 as a teacher of economic disciplines in educational institutions. Authored books on economic disciplines and scientific papers in foreign publications.
Since 1996, she was in public service within the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan. She rose through the ranks from Lead Treasurer, Deputy Head of the Financing Division of the Almaty City Treasury Department to Head of the Department of Methodology, Reporting and Statistics, Deputy Director of the Reporting and Statistics Department and Director of several other departments. Her latest position held in 2022–2024 was Director of the Department of Reporting and Statistics on Public Finance of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Since January 15, 2025 she is
appointed Deputy Director of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Statistics
Department.
