EEC adopted methodology for calculating consolidated balance forecasts for supply and demand by main types of industrial goods

The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission adopted the methodology for calculating consolidated balance forecasts for supply and demand of the Eurasian Economic Union countries by the main types of industrial products.

"Consolidated balance forecasts for supply and demand of the EAEU States are primarily a tool to support decision-making in industrial development and cooperation," stressed Artak Kamalyan, EEC Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture.

According to the methodology, consolidated balance forecasts for supply and demand are informational and advisory in nature and are calculated by 22 industrial goods: particle boards, nitrogen and potassium fertilizers, tractors, combine harvesters, etc.

The document is based on the balance forecast method including a system of balanced indicators by the resource origin of the main types of industrial products and their uses.

Such approach was successfully applied when the Commission's Industrial Unit performed a comprehensive analysis of the current situation on the common EAEU market for scrap metal and ferrous and non-ferrous waste. That allowed to assess the state of the Union's market for the above products and prepare relevant comprehensive proposals for raw materials supply to Eurasian iron and steel works.
