On February 8, Arzybek Kozhoshev, EEC Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure, held the first meeting of the Council of Heads of Authorized Energy Authorities of the EAEU States established by the decision of the Heads of State of the Eurasian Five in December 2022.

The Heads of relevant ministries discussed forming the EAEU common electric power market.

“Forming common energy markets is an important basis for the Eurasian integration”, Arzybek Kozhoshev emphasized. The meeting attendees were presented with the proposal of the Republic of Kazakhstan to create a registrar-operator of the common electric power market.

Besides, the Council of Heads considered implementing by the centralized electric power trade operator of the day-ahead registrar functions in the common market and the principles of determining the deviations of the net electric power flow from the planned values.
