Foreign business shows interest in EAEU single market

During the meeting between the Kyrgyz business community and the delegation of the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Russia (BLCC) held on September 24-25, the Eurasian Economic Commission's representatives presented possibilities of the Eurasian Economic Union's single market.

As part of the BLCC's visit to Bishkek, the Commission also organized partner negotiations at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Bishkek FEZ, the Union of Banks of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as working meetings with Kyrgyz companies potentially interested in cooperation with entrepreneurs from Belgium and Luxembourg.

Avtandil Alybaev, Deputy Director of the EEC Integration Development Department, who accompanied the BLCC delegation, noted: “Our partners (companies - members of the Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber) have good prospects in all the EAEU Member States, which is facilitated by a favorable climate for economic activities in the Union's single market. It is important to maintain a dialogue between the business circles of the EAEU and Western Europe, and to inform foreign business communities about new opportunities in a timely manner”.

The negotiating participants stated the importance of mutual support and information exchange, during which, for example, foreign businesses receive up-to-date information about the conditions for opening businesses and tax regime in Kyrgyzstan, legal formats for foreign companies to work here, and other factors affecting commercial success in the Kyrgyz Republic. Such dialogue between business communities promotes business development and strengthens positions in new markets.

The BLCC's visit to the Kyrgyz Republic was the third business mission to the EAEU countries organized by the Commission for the Chamber (Yerevan – 2023, Minsk – April 2024).

The BLCC has more than 150 member companies.
