Cooperation with the International Epizootic Bureau (IEB)

The 81-st General session of the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) completed its work in Paris, France, on May 31, 2013. 178 WOAH countries, representatives of international and regional organizations took part in the session.
       The delegation of Eurasian Economic Commission composed of O.V. Arnautov, the director of the Department of sanitary, phytosanitary and veterinary measures, and V.F. Sitnikov, the head of the section of veterinary measures, participated in the work of the main world veterinary forum for the first time.
       Such important issues as acceptance of international safety standards 
for international animal and animal product trade, the issues of combatting animal diseases
including zoonoses were addressed and the ways to improve the quality of veterinary service operation were discussed at the session.
      At the same time working meeting between the EEC delegation and Dr. Bernard Valla, the general manager of the WOAH (see the picture) was arranged within the framework of the General session where the issues of establishing official relations between Eurasian Economic Commission and World Organization for Animal Health were discussed.​
