On August 14, Arzybek Kozhoshev, the EEC Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure discussed the key trends in implementing and developing intelligent transport systems across the EAEU with Alexander Semkin, President of the Association for Developing Digital Transport Technologies "Digital Era of Transport".
The EEC Minister informed about the Commission's work on digitalization in transport, as well as the significant role of this area in shaping a single transport space and a common market of transport services in the EAEU.
"The objective need to reduce vehicle downtime, ensure increased transportation safety and automation of management activities stimulate transport companies of the Eurasian Five countries to actively implement digital technologies," stated Arzybek Kozhoshev.
In turn, the President of the Association Alexander Semkin expressed his interest in long-term cooperation. Interaction may include professional development of the EEC relevant unit's personnel and exchange of experience in developing intelligent transport systems.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to continue cooperation on digitalizing transport activities.
The talks were held in the Competence Center for Intelligent Transport Systems. Functioning under the Association's auspices, it has a unique laboratory of full-scale equipment in the field of ITS and digital technologies in transportation.
