Bakytzhan Sagintaev, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, took part in a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Moscow on December 12.

The meeting exchanged views on relevant matters of economic interaction in the Eurasian space.

The documents on cooperation between the CIS countries, including the Eurasian Economic Union states, in the field of civil shipbuilding and production of shipboard equipment, digital transformation of the transport complex and a number of other spheres were considered and signed.

Interaction with the CIS is one of the priorities of the Eurasian Economic Union's international agenda. Two joint action plans have already been implemented with the Commonwealth Executive Committee, and a third plan is currently being implemented.

Sectoral dialogue with CIS entities is being developed in such areas as antitrust policy, standardization and uniformity of measurements, electric power industry, consumer protection, and statistics. The format of cooperation allows the parties to exchange information promptly and ensure active participation of experts in the discussion of topical projects developed within the associations.

Combining the integration processes of the EAEU and CIS can multiply the effect of this cooperation.
