EEC develops cooperation in wood processing industry

The Eurasian Economic Commission's representatives invited participants in the Low-Rise Russia 2025 Conference, held as part of the RosBuild 2025 International Exhibition for Building Materials and Technologies, to cooperate in the wood processing industry.

The popularity of factory-made modular solutions for private housing construction (PHC) has been noted in view of the high demand for wooden house building in PHC.

In 2024, the share of such buildings commissioned in Russia reached 60%, and 51.1% in Belarus. Such dynamics creates favorable conditions for developing all types of PHC technologies and manufacturing relevant structures and materials within the Eurasian Economic Union.

According to Georgy Arzumanyan, Deputy Director of the EEC Industrial Policy Department, the development of production facilities in the field of modular construction and prefabricated housing is one of the most promising areas in wood processing and has a great potential for cooperation between the Union countries' companies.

“Using a new financial support mechanism for industrial projects in the wood processing sector will give an additional impetus to developing the industry,” Georgy Arzumanyan emphasized.

The event attendees were invited to discuss the possibility of applying this mechanism, as well as other issues facing manufacturers within relevant expert groups at the EEC venue scheduled to meet in 2025.
