Goar Barseghyan presented new mechanisms to support real economy at Russian Business Week

Goar Barseghyan, Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture of the Eurasian Economic Commission, presented key directions for strengthening integration processes in the industrial and agricultural spheres at the session “EAEU to 2030: Goals, Mechanisms, Challenges in Business and Government Interaction” as part of the Integration Forum “Russian Business Week”.

The EEC Minister paid special attention to developing financial support mechanisms for the real economy and ensuring food security in the Eurasian Economic Union countries.

“The EAEU States play an important role in ensuring global food security. Over the ten years of the Union's existence, the volume of agricultural production has increased by 25.9%. The food self-sufficiency level has reached 93%,” she mentioned.

Goar Barseghyan emphasized the importance of systematic interaction between public authorities and business structures, noting that regular meetings with representatives of business associations became an efficient platform for working out joint solutions.

The EEC Minister added that the Commission actively informs entrepreneurs about the financial support mechanism for cooperation in the agricultural sector, including the definition of criteria and sources of financing, with due regard to the industry specifics.

“On this occasion, I confirm the Commission's readiness to direct dialogue with business representatives to lay the groundwork for cooperation meeting the needs of the real economy, as well as to attract participants to the Eurasian cooperative projects based on mutual interest,” Goar Barseghyan said.

The EEC Minister invited all those interested to become more involved in elaborating new documents and support mechanisms.
