Maksim Ermolovich discussed in Astana joint work on EAEU competition and public procurement

Maksim Ermolovich, Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, paid a working visit to Astana, where he held a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of Kazakhstan's public authorities.

In particular, negotiations were held with Serik Zhumangarin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Zhanel Kushukova, Vice-Minister of Trade and Integration, Marat Omarov, Chairman of the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition, and Asksat Orazbek, Vice-Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

They discussed some issues in the field of public procurement in the Eurasian Economic Union, including the implementation of the action plan for mutual recognition of electronic digital signatures for public procurement purposes.

The sides discussed the possibility of equalizing the conditions for mobile telecommunications services in roaming in the EAEU countries and decreasing tariffs to a significant degree.

As part of improving the Union's competition law, amendments to the Treaty on the EAEU were discussed.

The meetings also touched upon the issue of reformatting the work of the EEC relevant unit to improve the efficiency of identifying and suppressing anticompetitive behavior in transboundary markets.
