Olzhas Suleimenov, Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to UNESCO, will address the Eurasian Economic Forum in Bishkek

Olzhas Suleimenov, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to UNESCO, will speak at the thematic session of the Economic Forum "Eurasianism as an Idea for Uniting People. Future Outlook" to be held in Bishkek on May 26.

Thematic session "Eurasianism as an Idea for Uniting People. Future Outlook."

Date and time: May 26, 09:30 AM – 11:00 AM (local time)

Venue: Bishkek, Novotel Hotel, Hall 1

The issue of the Eurasian integration ideology is in the air, however, still far from being resolved. Each State in the post-Soviet space generates its own national idea and the Eurasian integration is considered solely as an economic one. At the same time, it seems clear that this is not enough for the EAEU further development and deepening. Non-economic factors that stimulate the integration processes to deepen shall be activated, and they are to be taken to a new quality level. For this purpose, the "Eurasian idea" is required that would serve both as a benchmark of the integration process quality and a strategic guideline.

Discussion points:

·         What is meant by the current Eurasian Idea and what is its role in strengthening economic integration within the EAEU?

·         How shall the common cultural, historical, spiritual and linguistic heritage be updated, subordinated to the goals of inclusive development?

·         What represents the optimal non-discriminatory state cooperation model and what ideology tools does the concept of the Greater Eurasian Partnership provide therefor?

The session will be moderated by Andrey Belyaninov, Secretary General of Eurasian Peoples' Assembly.

Speakers:

·         Grigory Rapota, Senator of the Russian Federation

·         Nikita Mikhalkov, Chairman of the Filmmaking Union of Russia

·         Olzhas Suleimenov, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to UNESCO

·         Abdygany Erkebayev, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, Chairman of the Assembly of People of Kyrgyzstan Council

·         Vladimir Shamakhov, Scientific Director, North-Western Institute of Management at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration

·         Ekaterina Abramova, Director of the Mir TV channel
