The EEC Minister thanked the Belarusian party for its involvement in the current integration agenda, noting key objectives for developing the transport industry the Commission and the EAEU countries are faced with today. Primarily, he highlighted delivering on objectives for removing existing restrictions on transportation by all modes of transport within the EAEU by 2025. "Solving this issue will give a progressive impetus to all sectors of the transport industry", Temirbek Asanbekov believes.The meeting discussed issues calling for special attention of the Heads of the EAEU countries’ transport ministers: cabotage transportation of goods, the Shipping Agreement and preparing draft acts required for its practical implementation, creating conditions for transit development, in particular, using navigation seals in road and rail transport as well as transiting to the use of electronic documents.
The EEC Minister expressed gratitude to the Belarusian party for its prompt internal approval of the draft Agreement on permissible masses, axle loads and vehicle dimensions when driving on the EAEU countries’ highways and simultaneously asked to accelerate enacting the Agreement on Navigation in the Republic of Belarus: "The Agreement is one of the EAEU core documents enabling access to inland waterways and thereby creating conditions for transit development in the region".Temirbek Asanbekov informed his Belarusian colleague on the possibility being explored to organize a meeting of the Council of Heads of Authorized Bodies in the field of Transport of the EAEU Member States within the Eurasian Economic Forum to be held on May 26-27 in Bishkek simultaneously with the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. Aleksey Avramenko confirmed his attendance in the upcoming meeting of the EAEU countries’ Ministers. The Ministers agreed to further discuss problematic issues of coordinated development of the EAEU countries’ transportation industry, the possibility of extending international transport cooperation and other important aspects of interaction in the present realities.
