Arzybek Kozhoshev, “Global change in supply chains has become a catalyst for creating and developing new transport routes”

Arzybek Kozhoshev, Minister in charge of Transport and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission, spoke about the creation of Eurasian transport corridors and new prospects for their development at the 10th Global Logistics Conference held in Dubai (UAE) on April 29-30.

The EEC Minister spoke about the Commission's work in the field of transport and infrastructure, key initiatives to create a common market for transport and logistics services, as well as the creation of a common transport space, including with regard to emerging sales markets and supply chains.

“Global change in supply chains against the backdrop of geopolitical events has changed the picture of traditional international transport corridors, of which the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union are members, and has become a catalyst for creating and developing new transport routes,” Arzybek Kozhoshev emphasized.

In his report, the Minister introduced the results of activities of the Union’s transport industry and key projects that contribute to the development of transportation across the EAEU.

On the sidelines of the conference, the EEC Minister held a meeting with Grace Sun, President of the GLA Global Logistics Alliance.

“The event is a good international platform for discussing the most important transport and logistics issues, especially in the modern context, when finding new routes is becoming almost a global trend and the most relevant agenda in this area,” the Minister noted and appreciated the well-organized conference.

Grace Sun expressed interest in cooperation of the Global Logistics Alliance with the EEC and the EAEU Member States as key players of the transport industry in the Eurasian space.

In order to establish communications between participants in the transport and logistics services market, a platform to hold bilateral meetings was organized. As part of the event, Hayk Tutunjyan, Deputy Director of the EEC Transport and Infrastructure Department, met with Jonpaul Simpson, Executive Director for Logistics and Trade Facilitation at Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to establish dialogue and interaction on the development of the international North-South transport corridor and digitalization of seaports and transportation toward the ports of Abu Dhabi and back.

The Global Logistics Conference is an international platform for participants in the transport and logistics services market, facilitating cooperation and discussion of current industry issues.

Organizer: GLA Global Logistics Alliance, a network comprising more than 7,000 logistics companies from over 170 countries. The headquarters is in Shenzhen, China.
