EEC facilitates re-importation by citizens of previously temporarily exported radio-electronic means and high-frequency devices

The Eurasian Economic Commission's Board has amended the Regulation on the import into the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union of radio-electronic means and high-frequency devices (REMs and HFDs) for civilian purposes.

“The adoption of the decision will make it possible to simplify the re-importation of REMs and HFDs by natural persons as goods for personal use, previously temporarily exported by them under the passenger customs declaration containing identification characteristics (name, model, radio frequency band). Therefore, there is no need to submit an opinion (permit) or information on inclusion in the unified register”, noted Vahagn Ghazaryan, Director of the EEC Tariff and Non-Tariff Customs Regulation Department.

He explained that nowadays, the importation of REMs and HFDs by natural persons as goods for personal use was carried out after submitting an opinion to the customs authority of the Union Member State. Along with that, obtaining and submitting permits is not required for those devices that are contained in the unified register of REMs and HFDs or included in the list envisaged in the Annex to the Regulation.

The decision shall come into effect after 30 calendar days have elapsed from the date of its official publication.
