Arzybek Kozhoshev: "Organizing trade in energy resources is a priority for establishing the EAEU common electric power markets"

Arzybek Kozhoshev, Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission, familiarized himself with the activities of the largest energy trading platform in Russia – the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange (SPIMEX).
The Exchange officials informed the EEC delegation on the functioning principles of the organized commodity market and explained the possibilities of its participation in establishing the EAEU common energy markets.

During the discussion of the procedure for exchange trade in oil and gas resources, Arzybek Kozhoshev stressed critical importance of organized trading to form transparent and non-discriminatory pricing for these goods sensitive for the economy and population of the Eurasian "five" countries.

Arranging centralized electric power trade in the EAEU common electric power market was a separate topic of conversation. The SPIMEX presented possible mechanisms of interaction proposed by the countries of electric power trading operators under fixed-term contracts which will enable establishing common exchange market for trade in this energy resource.
