On September 9, Arzybek Kozhoshev, Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission held a working meeting in Minsk with Viktor Karankevich, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus and Alexei Kushnarenko, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Belarus.
During the negotiations, the sides discussed relevant matters of establishing common energy markets of the Eurasian Economic Union, including the progress in harmonizing international treaties on the establishment of common markets for gas, oil and petroleum products.
“The finalization of draft treaties depends on a consensus reached by the parties on fundamental issues of market formation,” Arzybek Kozhoshev noted.
The sides emphasized the need to continue the dialogue on addressing sensitive issues and finding mutually agreed solutions for their further consideration at the meetings of the Union's governing bodies.
The meeting also touched upon common areas of energy cooperation between the EAEU Member States.
