The issues of forming and functioning of the Eurasian Economic Union’s single market of services and developing integration processes in the construction sector were discussed at the meeting of the First Eurasian Construction Congress held on October 6 in Kazan. Bakytzhan Sagintaev, EEC Minister in charge of Economy and Financial Policy, spoke at the Forum on behalf of the Commission via videoconferencing.
The Forum attendees also discussed implementing the EAEU single construction market, its state and expansion prospects, creating the Eurasian Federation of Civil Engineers (EFCE), as well as challenges faced by the industry representatives today.
"The full-fledged functioning of the single market for construction services will contribute to dynamic development of the industry, and will lead to competitive growth and an increase in construction services", Bakytzhan Sagintaev noted in his speech.
The EEC Minister informed the Forum attendees on the formation and expansion of the single market of services, some work on a prototype of the Union's digital investment platform, and a system for forecasting and modeling the consumption of construction resources.
Bakytzhan Sagintaev turned the spotlight on the complex of measures taken to ensure and develop the single market of services and overcome problems under current conditions, implemented by the Commission jointly with the EAEU countries.
"Nowadays, most of construction works and design services – 83 types - have been transferred to the single market format", Bakytzhan Sagintaev stressed. "We continue our work on creating conditions for smooth functioning and expansion of the single market for construction, related and associated services, as well as developing cooperation in industrial construction".
