EAEU to zero duties on certain types of agricultural equipment and components

The Eurasian Economic Commission’s Council approved temporary zeroing of import customs duty rates for certain types of agricultural machinery, as well as expanded the list of its parts and components subject to tariff exemptions.

"The measure is aimed at supporting the Eurasian Economic Union’s manufacturers of agricultural products, who, under external pressure, faced with stopped deliveries of imported equipment and components, as well as interrupted logistics chains. The decision will help drive down prices for output products and contribute to ensuring food security of our countries", noted Andrey Slepnev, EEC Minister in charge of Trade.

He clarified that this entailed, in particular, zeroing duties on beet topping machines and beet harvesters for a period up to and including June 30, 2024.

Besides, tariff exemptions will be granted in the form of exemption from customs duties for refrigerator containers (until June 30, 2024), as well as parts and components of agricultural machinery (until the end of 2022 or June 30, 2023, depending on the products delivered).
