Cooperation in the field of labor migration and social protection will be one of the priorities in the interaction between the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
This was agreed by Bakytzhan Sagintaev, EEC Minister in charge of Economy and Financial Policy, and Stefano Scarpetta, Director of the Directorate for Employment, Labor and Social Affairs, during a meeting at the OECD headquarters in Paris.
The meeting discussed labour activities and social protection of migrant workers in the host country.
During the meeting, Bakytzhan Sagintaev noted the important role of the OECD in drawing up recommendations and setting standards for economic development.
“In this regard, the exchange of experience and best practices between the OECD and the EEC on employment and social protection is relevant and can be used in further development of the EAEU single labor market and creating favorable conditions for citizens,” the EEC Minister emphasized.
Following the meeting, an arrangement was reached to establish interaction between the EEC and the OECD in these areas.
