Requirements to composition of perfume and cosmetic products changed
The EEC Council adopted amendments to the
Technical Regulation "On safety of perfume and cosmetic products".
The list of substances prohibited or permitted for use in perfume and cosmetic products has been clarified subject to the specified restrictions. The list of permitted colorants, preservatives and UV-filters has been updated as well.
In particular:
– the list of substances prohibited for use in perfume and cosmetic products is supplemented with 296 items;
– the list of substances permitted for use subject to restrictions is supplemented with 12 items, while six items are deleted;
– four items are deleted from the list of preservatives permitted for use. The amendments will come into effect after one year has elapsed from their official publication.
