Program Committee discussed preparations for the Second Eurasian Economic Forum featuring heads of EAEU Member States

At the venue of the Eurasian Economic Commission Andrey Slepnev, EEC Minister in charge of Trade, chaired the first meeting of the Program Committee for the Second Eurasian Economic Forum that this year will be held under the slogan "Eurasian Integration in Multi-Polar World".

The event is scheduled on May 24-25, shortly before the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council; the plenary will be attended by the leaders of the Eurasian Economic Union countries. According to the EEC legal acts, the Eurasian Economic Forum is held annually in the country chairing the EAEU – that is, this year it will take place in the Russian Federation. 

At the meeting of the Program Committee, representatives of authorized agencies and businesses of the Eurasian Economic Union countries, as well as EEC structural subdivisions discussed the general Forum concept and tentative scope, possible topics for panel sessions and events on the sidelines. 

In keeping with the Forum's focus on positioning the Union in the modern world, thematic sessions and dialog events will touch upon the most relevant topics on the global agenda: the mindset foundations of the modern Eurasianism; the EAEU strategic objectives for decades to come; digital transformation, climate challenges and the Union's consolidated response to them; energy and food security; relations with the SCO, BRICS, ASEAN, African and Middle Eastern countries.
