EEC Council raised threshold for duty-free imports of goods for personal use to 1,000 euros and 31 kg
Along with that, if the cost of goods for personal use exceeds the specified norms, it will be necessary to pay a duty of 30% of the cost, but not less than 4 euro per 1 kg.

Prior to adopting this decision, the threshold for duty-free importation of goods for personal use was 500 euro and 25 kg.

According to experts of the Union countries and the Commission, the adopted measure will enable supporting citizens under sanction pressure and prevent a shortage of essential commodities and critical imports. But it will be in effect on a temporary basis - until October 1, 2022.

The EEC Council's Decision shall come into effect after 10 calendar days have elapsed from the date of its official publication.
