EAEU technical regulation moves towards digitalization

"Practical implementation, development and deepening of integration pose new challenges that cannot be met without using state-of-the-art digital technologies. And technical regulation is one of the most important tools in meeting these challenges”, Viktor Nazarenko, EEC Minister in charge of Technical Regulation, noted at the plenary session of the International ICT Forum TIBO-2022 held on June 7 in Minsk.

Viktor Nazarenko informed on the project of digital technical regulation within the EAEU, which creates a modern digital environment for forming a complete set of mandatory requirements to exactly identified subjects of technical regulation.

"Implementing the project will give all market participants access to digital services to ensure digitizing the design, production and introduction of products to the market", the EEC Minister stressed. "And the project’s main result will be an opportunity for the manufacturing industry to speed up the creation and introduction of products to the market, including new ones meeting current mandatory requirements".

Regional and sub-regional projects for developing telecommunications infrastructures and supporting the technical community, some issues of using big data in the agricultural sector, implementing the EAEU ecosystem projects as well as digital measurement of Eurasian integration projects were discussed as well.

Besides, on June 6, Viktor Nazarenko, EEC Minister in charge of Technical, held a lecture for students and faculty members of the Belarusian National Technical University, where he highlighted the main aspects of the EAEU unified system of technical regulation and answered students' questions.
