Decisions were adopted on amendments to be included in the first set of amendments to the EAEU Customs Code. It is planned to create additional conditions for container transportation in the Union, by minimizing control functions in relation to containers used for international cargo transportation. Their specific feature is containers recognized as transport facility rather than goods moved across the customs border.
During the discussion, representatives of Russia and Kazakhstan proposed to completely exempt containers from the requirements of customs declaring procedure and customs operations upon arrival at and departure from the EAEU customs territory. An argument was made in favor of the global experience and practice of the People's Republic of China.
