The EAEU raised the threshold for duty-free importation of parcels for natural persons to 1,000 euros

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission adopted a decision to raise the threshold for duty-free importation of goods for natural persons to 1,000 euros for goods transported by carriers or mail.

The threshold was increased on a temporary basis – until October 1, 2022. If the cost of the parcel exceeds this amount or it weighs more than 31 kg, a duty will have to be paid in the amount of 15% of the order cost, but not less than 2 euros per 1 kg.

This measure will help support individuals ordering goods for personal use from foreign online stores and avoid short supply of goods.

Currently, the duty-free threshold for the importation of goods for personal use is 200 euros.

The decision shall come into effect after 10 calendar days have elapsed from the date of its official publication.
