EAEU improves technical regulations and measures of sanitary, phytosanitary and veterinary control

On March 31, the meeting of the Advisory Committee on Technical Regulation, Application of Sanitary, Veterinary and Phytosanitary Measures chaired by Viktor Nazarenko, Minister in charge of Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, approved for the most part draft Technical Regulations "On safety of paints and varnishes" and "On safety of light rail transport, trams" for consideration at the EEC Board’s meeting. Amendments to the Technical Regulations "On safety of personal protective equipment" and "On requirements for fire safety and fire extinguishing means" were sent for public discussion.

Amendments to the Unified list of products subject to mandatory conformity assessment accompanied by certificates of conformity and declarations of conformity issued in a unified form were supported.

The meeting attendees approved revised editions and amendments to the lists of standards to the Technical Regulations "On safety of low-voltage equipment", "On safety of elevators", "On food safety", "On safety of fish and fishery products", "On safety of personal protective equipment" as well as draft amendments to the Program for developing interstate standards to the Technical Regulation "On safety of light industry products" and the draft list of products to relation of which filing of a customs declaration should be accompanied by submitting a document on assessing compliance (information on conformity assessment document) with the requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union’s Technical Regulation "Requirements for liquefied petroleum gases for their use as fuel" (TR EAEU 036/2016) to be further considered at the EEC Board meeting.

A number of relevant matters on applying sanitary, phytosanitary and veterinary measures were considered. In particular, amendments to the Uniform sanitary epidemiological and hygienic requirements for the goods subject to sanitary and epidemiological supervision (control) were approved for consideration by the EEC Board in terms of establishing maximum residue limits of veterinary medicines (antiprotozoal) in food products of animal origin.

The Advisory Committee’s members supported amendments to Chapter 45 of the Unified veterinary (veterinary and sanitary) requirements for goods subject to veterinary control (supervision).
