EEC discussed conceptual approaches to creating a common market for air transport services

On March 1, Arzybek Kozhoshev, Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission, discussed conceptual approaches to creating a common market for air transport services with the EAEU Authorized Transport Bodies’ deputy heads in charge of civil aviation.

The meeting participants considered executing the roadmap for implementing the Main Directions and Implementation Stages of the Coordinated (Agreed) 2021-2023 EAEU Member States’ Transport Policy regarding air transport.

The meeting touched upon the issues of legislation harmonization, ensuring fair and bona-fide competition, as well as the expediency of drafting and concluding an international agreement on the creation and functioning of a common market for air transport services within the Union. Relevant draft acts developed by the EAEU governing bodies were considered, which are scheduled to be adopted this year.

The sides confirmed their readiness to coordinate joint efforts aimed at a step-by-step creation of a common market for air transport services.
