On October 14, Valentin Tataritsky, Minister in charge of Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, took part in the conference "Standardization as the Basis for Industrial Development of the Republic of Belarus", held in Minsk coinciding with the World Standards Day and Belarusian Day of Standardization.
In his speech, Valentin Tataritsky focused on the joint work of the Commission with the authorized authorities of the Eurasian Economic Union countries, carried out to keep product requirements up to date.
The EEC Minister stressed the relevance of standardization in the context of fulfilling priority Eurasian integration tasks. Among them are the directions of industrial cooperation identified in Armenia on October 1 at the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, low-carbon development, as well as the functionality of the digital environment created within the Union.
In particular, Valentin Tataritsky has noted that standardization is a key tool for ensuring product safety, promoting quality and competitiveness of products across the Eurasian space.
The Minister urged the conference participants not to stay away from the discussions on shaping the action plan for implementing the Eurasian Economic Path Declaration, including in terms of practical integration of standardization results to solve the problems of the industrial complex.
