A session “E-Commerce of Tomorrow: Development Approaches in the EAEU” will be held during the 2nd Eurasian Economic Forum in Moscow involving the business community and regulators of the Eurasian Economic Union countries, as well as representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission. “The growth of e-commerce, significant indicators of which we saw during the pandemic, continues to this day. Even now, it accounts for about a third of the entire non-food retail market in some Eurasian Economic Union countries - and, obviously, this is not the limit. The EAEU has already formalized the main measures for developing e-commerce, and now it is required to form the next steps of the Union's law development, which will enable ensuring the most fair environment for all market participants and implementing new technologies and business processes in this segment of the economy,” noted Vahagn Ghazaryan, Director of the EEC Tariff and Non-tariff Customs Regulation Department.

The speakers invited to the event include Andrey Slepnev, Minister in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Vladimir Ilyichev, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Tatiana Bakalchuk, Director General of Wildberries, Nina Emelyanova, Deputy Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of the Republic of Belarus, Sergey Belyakov, Managing Director of Ozon Holding LLC, Nazarbek Malaev, Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Luca Castellani, Head of the UNCITRAL E-Commerce Working Group. The session will be moderated by Artem Sokolov, President of the Association of Internet Trade Industries.

The session attendees will consider the main trends in developing e-commerce, discuss issues and priority areas for establishing the Union's single market, main global trends, as well as ways to solve the most sensitive problems.

The 2nd Eurasian Economic Forum is timed to coincide with the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council involving the heads of the Eurasian Economic Union Member States and the Observer States. The events are held within the framework of the 2023 chairmanship of the Russian Federation in the EAEU governing bodies. The Forum's objective is to improve cooperation ties in the Eurasian space.
