In H1 of 2022 EEC issued nine warnings to prevent violations of competition rules

The Commission's efficient use of "soft regulation" tools was described by Arman Shakkaliev, Minister in charge of Competition and Antitrust Regulation of the EEC, in his speech during the international conference in Minsk dedicated to the 30th anniversary of antitrust regulation in the Republic of Belarus.
The Minister noted that antitrust regulation was more and more getting into the mediative mode of operation to prevent possible violations of general competition rules.

"Lately, we have been actively using such EAEU law mechanisms as admonitions and warnings that proved their efficiency and relevance. They allow to restore competition in a prompt manner significantly reducing the administrative burden on businesses, without the need to conduct full investigations," emphasized Arman Shakkaliev.
Also, according to the head of the EEC Competitive Unit, the Commission's pro-competitive work helps businesses avoid breaching antitrust law, which raises awareness about the norms of supranational antitrust regulation.

"Now, the key way to get feedback from businesses are meetings of public information offices where over 1,500 entrepreneurs from the EAEU countries have taken part since the beginning of 2022," said the Minister.

The speaker expressed his gratitude to Belarusian entrepreneurs noting their active participation in the state procurement of the Union's countries and including industrial goods produced in the Republic's territory into the Eurasian register.

"At present, the Eurasian register of industrial goods features information on 7,859 industrial goods and 68 manufacturers from the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation. Of these, 7,516 industrial goods and 63 manufacturers are from the Republic of Belarus," noted Arman Shakkaliev.
