Andrey Slepnev and India's Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry discussed ways to deepen trade and economic cooperation

On July 25, a meeting was held at the Eurasian Economic Commission's headquarters between Andrey Slepnev, EEC Minister in charge of Trade, and Sunil Bartwal, Indian Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry, who is currently in Moscow as the Indian delegation is participating in the 14th BRICS Trade Ministers' Meeting and the 36th meeting of the BRICS Contact Group on Economic and Trade Issues. It was noted that the Eurasian Economic Union countries and India have a high potential in mutual trade which, being fulfilled, should help diversify trade turnover and expand cooperation in various sectors of the economy.

"The EAEU Member States are ready to consider new forms of cooperation, including development of a preferential trade agreement, which will increase the volume of mutual trade turnover and expand the range of traded goods," mentioned Andrey Slepnev.
