A meeting of the EEC experts and young entrepreneurs from Russia was held on April 17 at the Eurasian Economic Commission. The meeting is timed to coincide with the 2nd Youth Forum of the CIS and the EAEU to be held from June 7 to June 9 in Sochi (the Russian Federation).
It is expected to be attended by entrepreneurs, young civil servants, students and representatives of initiative young people from the CIS countries and the EAEU. The Forum's key mission is to formulate specific solutions for developing youth entrepreneurship, and generate proposals by young people for the EAEU further development.
The 2nd CIS and EAEU Youth Forum is organized by Rosmolodezh (the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs) with the support of the Eurasian Economic Commission and the CIS Executive Committee.
A meeting between the Russian young entrepreneurs and representatives of the Commission at the organization's headquarters in Moscow was one of the events during the official start of registration. Daniyar Turusbekov, Chairman of the EEC Youth Council and Director of the Organizational Support and Protocol Department of the Commission, has reminded that the Eurasian Economic Union is an established integration association of five countries: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
“Our Union has become a fast-moving community based solely on the economy. We realize four freedoms: free capital, services, movement of labor and goods," Daniyar Turusbekov noted. "The youth entrepreneurship is a new topic for us, and we have yet to create mechanisms for the Commission's systemic interaction with young entrepreneurs. The 2nd CIS and EAEU Youth Forum, which will soon be held in Sochi, will help us to do so”. He also reminded that Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the EEC Board, had repeatedly noted the important role of youth in developing the Eurasian integration and expressed confidence in the importance of youth forums.
Oleg Makarov, Adviser to the Head of Rosmolodezh, informed that the Agency had been implementing the All-Russian Program for Developing the Youth Entrepreneurship since 2022. “This is a set of measures to involve young people in business activities, create and develop a sustainable community of young entrepreneurs. At year-end 2022, 36 program events were implemented, with more than 77,000 representatives of the Russian youth participating in them,” he noted. Oleg Makarov has emphasized that an additional direction related to the export development is implemented in 2023 - a program for international entrepreneurship in the CIS countries.
The meeting announced the start of drumming up ideas for developing entrepreneurship and foreign economic activities. The best ideas will be presented at the Forum.
On behalf of the Commission, the meeting was attended by the following persons who informed on the key directions of the Eurasian economic integration and answered some questions of young entrepreneurs: Armen Harutyunyan, Director of the Agricultural Policy Department, Ilya Kabanov, Head of the Section of the E-commerce Regulation and Marking of Goods of the Tariff and Non-tariff Customs Regulation Department, Mikhail Silvestrov, Head of the Agreed Macroeconomic Policy Cooperation Section of the Macroeconomic Policy Department, Marina Selivanova, Deputy Head of the Customs Legislation Section of the Department of Customs Legislation and Law Enforcement Practice, and Maksim Shalyagin Deputy Head of the Section of Entrepreneurship, Services and Investment of the Business Development Department.
