Arzybek Kozhoshev: "Restrictions and barriers in the EAEU freight traffic can only be removed by the Member States’ joint efforts"

Relevant matters of implementing the Eurasian Economic Union’s transport policy were discussed by Arzybek Kozhoshev, EEC Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure, and Kairbek Uskenbaev, Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan, on September 8 in Nur-Sultan (the Republic of Kazakhstan). The meeting was held as part of Arzybek Kozhoshev's working visit to Kazakhstan.
The meeting attendees have noted that the restrictions can be removed by comprehensive implementation of the roadmap for implementing the Union’s transport policy for 2021-2023 as well as the Strategic Directions for Developing the Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025.

Arzybek Kozhoshev informed Kairbek Uskenbaev about the Commission’s activities on developing and approving the regulatory framework at all levels of the Union later in the year: "The Commission is ready to provide all available resources to assist in implementing the Main Directions of Transport Policy, preparing documents and consultations on transport activities," the EEC Minister noted.

During the meeting, the Ministers agreed to take personal control of elaborating and approving strategic documents scheduled to be adopted this year.

The Ministers underscored the importance of active involvement of the EAEU countries’ business community representatives in preparing documents of the EAEU governing bodies, as well as considering their recommendations in developing and forming the EAEU legal framework.

Arzybek Kozhoshev thanked his Kazakh colleague for his active involvement in the current integration agenda, noting key objectives for developing the transport industry the Commission and the EAEU countries are faced with today.
