The share of national currencies in mutual settlements in the EAEU has exceeded 73% over the past six years

The share of national currencies in mutual settlements in the Eurasian Economic Union has exceeded 73% since 2016.

In 2021, the share of payments in national currencies amounted to 73.5%, with payments in Russian rubles accounting for 71.3%. Settlements in Kyrgyz soms showed the most remarkable growth by 0.6 percentage points. Payments in dollars reduced by 0.8 percentage points.

US dollars dominated in the pattern of currency payments with all world countries, including mutual settlements of the EAEU States: 54.3% in settlements for exports and 36.8% in settlements for imports.
