On May 14, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission adopted amendments to Section II of the Unified List of Products (Goods) Subject to State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance (Control) at the customs border and customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The document includes provisions for conformity assessment in the form of state registration of oral hygiene products and devices. The only exceptions are products that are subject to the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union “On the safety of perfumery and cosmetic products”, since today not all oral hygiene products and devices undergo a conformity assessment procedure confirming their safety for human health before being put into circulation on the Union market.
The decision of the EEC Council will make it possible to minimize the release into circulation on the Union market of oral hygiene products and devices that have not passed the conformity assessment, and to eliminate the legal gap in conducting state sanitary and epidemiological surveillance (control).
