EEC raises issues of reducing import dependence in machine tool industry

This was stated by Nikolai Rogozhnik, Deputy Director of the Industrial Policy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission, within two major international industry exhibition events –Metal-Expo 2023 and Mitex 2023.

"Today our countries face an important challenge to attract research associations to participate in the work of the Eurasian technology platforms. This is required to consolidate the EAEU States' scientific potential on the way to achieving technological sovereignty," Nikolai Rogozhnik noted.

The parties identified priority areas for developing cooperative interaction and deepening integration processes in the machine building industry within the EAEU.

During his participation in the round table discussions "Examples and Opportunities for Successful Import Substitution", the session "Full Life Cycle Effects - New Priority in Creating Strategic Infrastructure" and the conference "Electric Tools and Labour Saving Tools Market. State and Prospects" Nikolai Rogozhnik raised the issues of reducing the level of import dependence for a number of finished products, component base and machines for their manufacture.
