EEC to consider initiatives by EAEU youth

A new driver of EAEU economic development will be active people responsible for their future. That was stated on September 2 by Daniyar Turusbekov, Director of the Organizational Support and Protocol Department and Chairman of the EEC Youth Council, at the briefing following the "Kelechek" ("Future") Youth Forum of the CIS and the EAEU.
In this regard, holding a Youth Forum is a great opportunity not only to promote the Union as an integration association among the younger generation but also to create conditions for a comprehensive discussion of EAEU development prospects.

As part of the Youth Forum, young professionals from the Union countries and Uzbekistan met with Deputy Heads of Governments of the EAEU states, Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the EEC Board, and Sergey Lebedev, Chairman of the Executive Committee — CIS Executive Secretary.

"That was a vibrant, historic, unparalleled event in our space. For the first time ever, young professionals from the six states have voiced their initiatives directly and openly and have immediately received comments from Deputy Heads of Governments and the leadership of international organizations," emphasized Daniyar Turusbekov.
In particular, young leaders proposed to:

            foster creation of Eurasian entrepreneurial communities,

            adopt a program for developing youth tourism,

            support volunteering,

            establish an academic mobility fund and program,

            simplify access to digital vacancies, etc.

"On the instruction of Mikhail Vladimirovich, Chairman of the EEC Board, the Youth Council at the Eurasian Economic Commission will keep track of all the initiatives – the proposals will definitely be considered. We are grateful to the Chairman of the EEC Board for his personal support. In the near future, we will convene a meeting of the EEC Youth Council and discuss the forum outcomes," said Director of the Organizational Support and Protocol Department and Chairman of the EEC Youth Council.
At the Youth Forum opening, as part of developing the EAEU youth agenda, the Chairman of the EEC Board proposed to:

- establish a youth initiatives support fund;

- create a 'single window' of the Eurasian Economic Commission to review appeals by young people from the Union Member States;

- provide the Commission internship opportunities for students enrolled in main professional higher education programs in the EAEU.

According to Daniyar Turusbekov, promotion of youth entrepreneurship is becoming one of the principal objectives in EAEU business development. One of the key factors conducive to stimulating entrepreneurship is effective business communities.

"Thanks to the initiative and personal support of Sadyr Nurgozhoyevich Zhaparov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Youth Forum of the CIS and the EAEU was held in Cholpon-Ata," noted Director of the EEC Organizational Support and Protocol Department. "This year the Kyrgyz party assumed all commitments to hold the forum. But we hope that it will become annual. Our Russian colleagues expressed their determination to continue the dialog with youth in the framework of their upcoming 2023 chairmanship in the EAEU. The event was very inspiring both for young people and for representatives of public authorities and the EEC. It is important to engage our young people in the functioning of Eurasian economic integration."
The briefing was also attended by Soyuzbek Nadyrbekov, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
