Goar Barseghyan presented EEC stand at Innoprom

Goar Barseghyan, Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture of the Eurasian Economic Commission, took part in the Innoprom International Trade Fair in Ekaterinburg.

During the official part of the event, the Heads of Government of Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and the EEC Minister discussed the cooperation project involving Transmashholding JSC. The parties agreed on the possible launch of a new production chain within the framework of the mechanism for financing industrial cooperation in the EAEU.

"This year at Innoprom, we don't just have a busy schedule. For the first time, the Commission has participated in the trade fair with its own stand, which attracted attention and became a platform for fruitful business communication," mentioned Goar Barseghyan at the presentation of the EEC stand.

During the meeting between Goar Barseghyan and Alexander Efimov, Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian proposal on joint EAEU production of a Union electric bus was discussed. The pilot project is already being implemented within the framework of the interstate program, in which Armenia and Kyrgyzstan have shown interest.

The Ministers agreed to continue their work on promoting cooperation by discussing practical aspects.

The working meetings between Goar Barseghyan and representatives of Tatarstan and Sverdlovsk region considered the expansion of interregional cooperation.

An agreement was reached with Oleg Korobchenko, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, to develop cooperation through Eurasian technology platforms.

At the meeting with Goar Barseghyan, a number of initiatives were proposed by Andrey Nazarov, Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan.

"Of particular interest is Bashkortostan's experience in creating and developing industrial clusters; there are thirteen of them here. We agreed to actively work in this direction: to create a working group, to develop a support mechanism," Goar Barseghyan noted.

Continuing the dialog at Bashkortostan's stand, Georgy Arzumanyan, Deputy Director of the EEC Industrial Policy Department, made a presentation of a new mechanism of financial support for cooperation projects in the industry.

The EEC Minister also took part in the joint session of the EAEU and EEC Business Council "Industrial Cooperation in the Eurasian Economic Union: Opportunities and Prospects".

According to Goar Barseghyan, the Commission pays great attention to the development of industrial collaboration as one of the key instruments for industrial cooperation. She expressed gratitude to the EAEU Business Council for its assistance in launching the mechanism for financing industrial cooperation.

At the session of the coordination council of the branches of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Goar Barseghyan emphasized the importance of involving industrialized regions of the Union's countries in expanding interregional ties.

The Ural Federal District plays a key role in the development of industry and innovation sphere," Goar Barseghyan noted. "These are the areas that create a good basis for pooling promising projects in order to participate in the financial support mechanism. That means there is a lot of investment potential in them. I hope for active participation of the region's enterprises in the implementation of the new instrument."
