The Eurasian Economic Commission's delegation visited the Moscow exhibition and forum Occupational Safety and Health 2024, dedicated to the issues of technological development and personal protective equipment manufacturing.
The EEC representatives familiarized themselves with the products of leading companies in this field and informed the event participants about the financial support mechanism for joint cooperative industrial projects in the Eurasian Economic Union and other tools for the development of cooperation in the EAEU.
Georgy Arzumanyan, Deputy Director of Industrial Policy Department, noted that industrial cooperation of the EAEU countries is necessary for them to achieve technological sovereignty. It contributes to the successful development of the medical sector, including improvement of technical infrastructure in medical institutions, introduction of modern technological processes and equipment, use of new medicines, mastering new methods of diagnostics and treatment.
During the forum discussions with the industry representatives Dmitry Yaroshenko, Head of Section of the EEC Industrial Policy Department, informed the participants about the recommendation adopted by the Commission "On the Development of Cooperation between the EAEU Member States in the Production of Medical Devices and Non-Medical Products Used in the Provision of Medical Care". The recommendation is aimed at the development of research and manufacture of complex medical equipment and products, as well as cooperative interaction between manufacturers and research associations of the Union countries to establish the production of innovative, competitive, high-tech products.
The participants were invited to discuss the possibility of applying the financial support mechanism, as well as the most pressing issues facing producers, within the framework of specialized expert groups at the EEC, scheduled to gather in 2025.
