On April 12, Alexei Overchuk, Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Council and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, held the first meeting of the Organizing Committee of the Eurasian Economic Forum scheduled to be held on May 24-25 this year in Moscow.
The meeting was attended by Mikhail Myasnikovich, Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Chairman of the EEC Board, Andrey Slepnev, Head of the Program Committee and Minister of the EEC, Daniyar Turusbekov, Head of the EEC Control Headquarters and Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee, members of the EEC Board, representatives of the Union countries' ministries and departments and the Forum operator.
The meeting of the Organizing Committee approved the concept of the Forum, whereby the event program includes a plenary session, as well as panel sessions (about 35 events in total). The following topical areas of interaction within the EAEU are covered to the fullest extent: scientific and technical cooperation, financial sector, manufacturing industry and agricultural sector, climate agenda, energy, technical regulation and veterinary medicine, development of the Union's internal market, electronic commerce, customs regulation, regional cooperation, public procurement, statistics, etc.
Opening the event, Alexei Overchuk stressed that the Forum should become a platform for direct dialogue between the business community and public authorities of the Eurasian Economic Union Member States and discussion of new ideas aimed at creating a favorable business climate in the Eurasian space.
“The theme of the upcoming Eurasian Economic Forum has been defined as the “Eurasian Integration in Multi-Polar World”. It is fully in line with the objectives of the Eurasian integration development at a time when the world faces new challenges. The Forum's goal is to promote the idea of the Union as an integration association in a multipolar world and to improve cooperation ties in the Eurasian space,” stated the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, the purpose of the Eurasian Economic Forum is to further develop economic cooperation between the EAEU countries, establish reliable relations between business entities, and achieve a synergistic effect from combining investment and innovation potentials.

The Eurasian Economic Forum is an annual business event of the Eurasian Economic Union in the economic sphere, held alternately in the EAEU State chairing the Union's governing bodies – the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and the EEC Council. The Forum is held in accordance with SEEC Decision No. 16 dated October 1, 2019.
The event is focused on involving heads of large, small and medium-sized businesses of the Member States and third countries, top public officials of the Member States, heads and representatives of the EAEU countries’ public authorities as well as heads and cabinet officers of third countries, representatives of international, scientific and educational organizations interested in developing interaction within the Union.
The first Eurasian Economic Forum was held on May 26, 2022 in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan).
