EEC-developed textbook Eurasian Economic Integration: Theory and Practice named Economic Book of the Year 2023

The textbook Eurasian Economic Integration: Theory and Practice, developed by a team of authors employed at the Eurasian Economic Commission in collaboration with the Russian Peoples' Friendship University under the leadership of Sergei Glazyev, EEC Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, won the public award Economic Book of the Year 2023 in the category Textbooks and Training Manuals: Current Economic Agenda.

The textbook declared the Economic Book of the Year 2023 is the first and so far the only manual that details the integration processes in the Eurasian Economic Union, one of the most advanced economic associations in the modern world. The book presents the results of activities on establishing and continuously improving the customs union, the common economic space and the EAEU. The manual details the legal framework, formats and practice of developing coordinated decisions by the Union States in all functional areas of integration development as defined by the Treaty on the EAEU dated May 29, 2014, the Strategy for Developing Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025 and other EAEU strategic planning documents.

 

 

The book is special in that, along with representatives of the academic economic school, it was mainly co-authored by officials and employees of the Eurasian Economic Commission, who on a daily basis directly engage in addressing the objectives that contribute to achieving the goals of economic integration, the development of the Union as a competitive association with effective tools to improve the living standard and quality of life of its citizens and create the most favorable conditions for business operations. The book presents both the theoretical and methodological foundations of integration and the practice of implementing integration initiatives and projects.
