The First Eurasian Economic Forum has been opened in Bishkek

The First Eurasian Economic Forum has been opened in Bishkek on May 26. Akylbek Zhaparov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, delivered welcoming remarks at the Forum's opening ceremony.

"Today, we are witnessing a civilizational shift from the West to the East and a shift of the economic center of gravity to Asian continents. If the window to Europe is closing, we are ready to open a gate to Asia. Our Union must take up dominating positions. In the context of globalization and continuing crisis phenomena, integration processes have a great relevance and importance in the global financial and economic system as never before. The mutual benefit of the Union for the Member States is obvious. We have a huge potential for further integration efficiently developed by the Union programs, which will make it possible to fill capacities, organize additional jobs and increase export supplies to many world countries. The minimum task is to develop our own market by improving competitiveness. The maximum task is to strengthen positions in the foreign market," Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers stated.
Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission's Board, thanked the Kyrgyz side for organizing the Forum and stressed the high interest of third countries in it.

"2,500 participants from 25 world countries have registered for the Forum. Today, it is planned to conclude 17 cooperation programs and contracts that will have practical results. For example, in the next few days, the first tons of products will be delivered from the Kyrgyz Republic to the Russian Federation as a result of agreements to be signed today under the Eurasian Agroexpress program," Chairman of the EEC Board emphasized.
